Suffern, NY - The SUNY Orange baseball team fell to Rockland Community College with a final score of 8-5.
The Colts got on the board first, bringing in one run after Nikolas Marrero (Middletown, NY / Minisink Valley) reached home on an error. The Hawks quickly responded by scoring three runs.
In the fourth inning the Colts tied the game up after adding two runs thanks to RBIs from Jackson Atwell (Newburgh, NY / Beacon) and Jacob Morino (Goshen, NY / Goshen). Rockland quickly regained control of the game bringing in three runs.
Rockland added two more runs in the sixth to extend their lead to 8-3. In the eighth inning the Colts added two more runs off RBIs from Atwell and Morino, to cut their deficit to 5-8.
Pitching for the Colts was Alex Sanchez (Middletown, NY / Middletown) facing 34 batters allowing six earned runs and striking out two. AJ Grant (Highland, NY / Highland) made an appearance facing 10 batters and striking out one.
