Baseball All–Region Teams Announced
Middletown, NY - The NJCAA Region XV office announced the 2026 Division II Baseball All-Region teams. Freshman Garrett Srednicki, sophomores Michael Fontaine, AJ Grant and Jackson Atwell were named to the Region XV All-Region Second Team. Fontaine also received a spot on the All-Region Sportsmanship Team.
Srednicki earned Second Team Relief Pitcher honors after finishing the season with a 1-2 record and a 2.76 ERA over 16.1 innings, allowing just five earned runs while striking out 26 batters. Srednicki earned a win against Dutchess on April 7, allowing just three hits and one run across 4.0 innings while striking out a season-high seven batters.
Fontaine was named Second Team Catcher after appearing in all 26 games for the Colts. Fontaine hit .300 on the season, recording 24 hits and a team-leading 21 runs batted in. Fontaine went 3-4 with four runs batted in against Dutchess on April 7 and hit a home run and knocked in three runs against Rockland on April 20.
Grant was named Second Team Infield, having appeared in 26 games for the Colts, splitting time between shortstop and right field, finishing second on the team with a .333 batting average, 25 hits and 16 runs batted in. Grant went 3-4 with 3 runs batted in against Dutchess on April 7 and 2-3 with a home run and two runs batted in against Ulster on April 9. In the season finale against Westchester, Grant went 3-5 with two runs batted in.
Atwell earned Second Team Outfield honors, having started all 26 games for the Colts in center field. Atwell finished the year batting .302 with a team-leading 26 hits. He also totaled 15 runs batted in and a team-high 20 runs scored.
Freshman Nikolas Marrero, Srednicki, Atwell, and Fontaine also earned a spot on the Region XV Gold Glove Team. Marrero was named Region XV Gold Glove for shortstop after leading the Colts with 39 assists and posting a .943 fielding percentage.
