The Third Match is a Charm for Orange Golfers
Orange golfers continue their hot start as they have won for the third time in as many matches. A well-rounded lineup from top to bottom, anchored by a couple of heavy hitters in the lead off spots.
Pomoma, NY - The Phillip J Rotella Golf Course, known for having the best greens in Rockland County, and owned by the Town of Haverstraw was the site of the latest Region XV golf match. Rotella, which has hosted the Region Championships many times, is well known to the Region XV community. It features a hilly layout that can be played at around 6500 yards from the tips.
Dan Conrad, a freshman from Marlboro high school once again was medalist, shooting an eighty-four. Sophomore Liam Parker (Washingtonville H.S.) had a huge bounce back this week by shooting an 86. Freshman Alex Miller (Valley Central H.S.), who shot ninety-three seems poised to make a big jump in his scores in the next week or so. Rounding out Orange's top 4 scores was freshman, William Siebert (Warwick H.S.). As the weather improves and the ground dries up, Orange's scores are getting better and better. As the season progresses, Orange is making a solid case that the team will be the favorite to win it all when the Region XV Tournament is held next month.
Orange is back in action next Monday, April 28, on their home course. Another win at the Town of Wallkill Golf Course would lock Orange in as the regular season Region XV and Mid-Hudson Conference champions.
