Colt Golfers Finish the Deal, Win Region Title, Finish Season Undefeated
Orange capped their undefeated golf season by capturing the team' first title in twenty-one years.
Suffern, NY – After sweeping away the competition in the regular season, the Colt golf team's mettle was evaluated at the Region XV Tournament held at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern. Hosted by Rockland Community College, the course is just minutes down the road from the school. The region tournament is a two-day affair that has each golfer playing thirty-six holes. The best four scores for each team count towards the team score. After day one of the competition, Orange found itself in unfamiliar territory, the team trailed and was in second place by 8 strokes. On day two, the Colts resolve, and talent came to the forefront as the team overcame that eight-stroke deficit and came from behind to win by eighteen and were crowned Region XV Champions.
Dan Conrad, a freshman from Marlboro H.S., won the Region XV Golfer of the Year award and was the medalist (winner) of the tournament. Dan followed up a solid opening round of eighty-two with a stellar final round of seventy-seven to finish with a two-day total of 159. Conrad's score was nine better than the second-place finishers. Sophomore Liam Parker, now a two-time national qualifier, shot 81 and 87 to finish in a three-way tie for second place. William Siebert played some of his best golf over the two-day championship and shot 186 while Alex Miller was right behind at 188. Rounding out the winning team with solid performances were Dan Olsen and Garrett McGovern.
As previously mentioned, Dan Conrad won the tournament and was named MVP for the 2025 season. Liam Parker was named the All-Region 1st team. Alex Miller was an All-Region 2nd team selection.
This is Orange's first team title in golf since 2004. While Orange has had many individual qualifiers over the years, this year, winning as a team, is exceptional! The team's next prepares to travel to Jamestown, NY to participate in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament on the historic Chautauqa Golf Course from June 3-6.
