Smith Leads Colts at Region XV Championship

Suffern, NY - Freshman Seamus Smith (Goshen, NY / Goshen) delivered a standout performance to lead the Colts and secure the individual title at the 2026 Region XV Golf Championship.

Smith opened the tournament finishing the first round with an 80, and carding an 86 on the final round to finish the tournament with a 166, beating Nassau's Thoman Wildeman by one stroke. Smith's strong performance earned him Region XV Player of the Year honors, along with a spot on the Region XV All-Region First Team. 

Garrett McGovern (Goshen, NY / Goshen) followed up for the Colts, shooting an 89 in the first round and a 93 in the second round to finish the tournament with a 182, good for seventh overall, earning McGovern a spot on the All-Region Second Team. 

Nassau claimed the team title with a 693, while Westchester finished second with a 732 and Rockland took third with an 834.
