Middletown, NY- The SUNY Orange men's soccer team took an early lead against Bronx Community College Thursday afternoon, and came from behind late as they tied 2-2. The Colts move to 1-2-2 on the season as Broncos move to 1-3-1.
The Colts opened up the scoring in the 13th minute when sophomore Daniel Galeas (Middletown, NY/Middletown) found the net thanks to a great pass from sophomore Hansel Ruiz-Garcia (Middletown, NY/Middletown).
With just two minutes remaining in the first half, Hanif Soule found the back of the net to give the Broncos their first goal, sending the teams into halftime tied at 1-1.
In the 67th minute Abdul Mohammed gave the Broncos their short lived lead.
At the 76th minute Galeas struck once again for the Colts scoring and leveling the match once more.
Neither side could find a late winner, and the match concluded in a hard-fought 2-2 draw.
Freshman Dominic Vega (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) faced seven shots on goal with five saves and allowing two goals. Galeas now leads the team with four goals and eight points on the season.
The Colts play host to Suffolk Community College on Saturday, kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 pm.
