Men’s Soccer Drop Match to Suffolk Community College

Middletown, NY - The SUNY Orange Colts faced a setback to Suffolk Community College in a 8-0 loss on Saturday afternoon. The Colts now drop to 1-3-2, and the Sharks improve to 4-4 on the season. 

For the Colts, shots were not easy to find as a team was only able to take three total shots throughout the game with two being on target. 

The Sharks controlled the game from the start as they scored their first goal in the first minute of the game. Just three minutes later the Sharks scored their second goal.

Suffolk continued to score three more goals in the first half, leading 5-0 going into halftime. 

In the second half, the Sharks offense continued to dominate as they scored three more times, finishing the game with a final score of 8-0. Jazai Kidd tallied a hat trick for the Sharks.

Freshman Dominic Vega (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) faced seven shots on goal with two saves before coming out due to injury. Sophomore Jonathan Velasquez (Middletown, NY/Middletown) took over and performed well for the Colts, making 13 saves on 16 shots on goal.

The Colts will travel to face Westchester Community College on Tuesday, the 23rd, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 PM.
