2025 Men’s Soccer Season Recap
Middletown, NY - The SUNY Orange men's soccer team closed out their 2025 season with a 3-8-2 record. The three wins for the Colts are tied for the most in a single season since 2016.
The Colts registered their first win of the season on 9/13 with a 2-1 victory over Queensborough. They followed that win with back to back ties against the United States Military Academy Preparatory School and Bronx, establishing a three-game unbeaten streak, the longest such streak since 2014.
The Colts then won Region XV games against Rockland on 9/30 and LaGuardia in the season finale.
Over 13 games the Colts tallied 79 shots with 52 being on target, along with 10 assists and 13 goals.
Sophomore Danel Galeas (Middletown/Middletown,NY) led the Colts with eight points on four goals. He tallied two goals in a 3-3 draw against the United States Military Academy Preparatory School and two more against Bronx, earning Mid-Hudson Conference Athlete of the Week honors for his performance. Galeas was ultimately named NJCAA Region XV Second Team All-Region.
Sophomore Jonathan Velasquez (Middletown/Middletown,NY) had four points with one goal and two assists, which was tied for the most on the team.
Freshman Kensito Felix (Nouveau Millénaire/Saint-Marc, Haiti) appeared in six games for the Colts and totaled four points with two goals, including a game-winning goal in the Colts season finale against LaGuardia.
Freshman goalie Dominic Vega (Warwick Valley/Warwick, NY) played in all 13 games for the Colts, totaling 73 saves and allowing 43 goals.
Sophomore Ronald Garcia (Middletown/Middletown, NY) was named to the Region XV All Region Sportsmanship Team. Garcia appeared in all 13 games for Colts, starting on the back line in each game.
