Softball Dominates Middlesex College

Edison, NJ - The SUNY Orange softball team took down Middlesex College on Thursday, March 19. The Colts were victorious, 14-5 and 12-2. 

Game one - SUNY Orange (14) - Middlesex (5) 

The Colts jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. And carried that early into the second inning adding four more runs, while keeping Middlesex scoreless. 

SUNY Orange added five more runs in the third inning, while Middlesex scored two runs making the score 12-2 in favor of the Colts. 

Both teams brought in one run in the fourth to bring the score to 13-3. The Colts added one more run in the fifth , and Middlesex drove in two runs closing out the game. The Colts took the 14-5 victory. 

Pitching for the Colts was Taylor Horaz. She pitched all five innings allowing two earned runs and striking out four batters. 

Game Two - SUNY Orange (12) - Middlesex (2) 

SUNY Orange came out with the same energy as the first game quickly setting the tone for the second game. Taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning. 

The Colts added two more runs in the second inning while keeping Middlesex scoreless. In the third inning Middlesex brought in their first run of the game to bring the score to 5-1. 

In the fourth inning the Colts drove in two more runs, Middlesex brought in their last run of the game. 

SUNY Orange went on to have a dominant fifth inning adding five more runs and bringing the final score to 12-2. 

Pitching for the Colts wasBridget O'Leary. She pitched all five innings, allowed one run and struck out five batters.
