The SUNY Orange Colts went 1-1 in their double duel against Kingsborough and Queensborough Community College. In the first match the Colts took on the Waves of Kingsborough Community College.
In this game the Colts took care of business in three sets defeating Kingsborough 25-10 in set one, 25-14 for set two, 25-15 in the third and final set. The Colts outscored their opponent in the first match by 31 points to secure their first victory for the weekend.
In what was an all around team victory for the Colts there were some key contributors to the match.
#5 Gabriella Dandrade and #8 Araceli Ospina tied each other as the team leaders in kills with a total of 7 kills. Dandrade finished the match with 7 kills on 14 attempts, 5 digs and 7.5 points.
#6 Lily Noteboom continued her assist streak once again, finishing with two kills on 10 attempts also adding 17 assists and 6 service aces for a total of 8.5 points
#8 Araceli Ospina finished had a fantastic night, finishing with 7 kills, 8 assists, 3 service aces and 10.5 points to help bring the Colts to victory
In the second match the Colts faced off against the Tigers of Queensborough. With both teams fighting for a better position in the conference standing it was scheduled to be an exciting match.
The Colts jumped out and kept their momentum going from the first set in a dominate victory winning 25-12.
After securing the 1-0 set lead, the Colts were unable to maintain it losing their next three sets as they fell to the Tigers 3-1.
Finishing with a 1-1 record on the weekend, the Colts move to a 9-4 record. They currently hold the fourth place position in Region 15 as they finish out the regular season the next two weeks.
#5 Gabriella Dandrade led the team in total kills finishing 6/21
#6 Lily Noteboom finished with 3 kills on 12 attempts and also added 9 assists and 9 digs. Finishing one assists short of having a 10 game streak of 10+ assists
#8 Araceli Ospina recorded 4 kills on 26 attempts, added 8 assists, 3 service aces and 8.0 points.
