Colts run win streak to 9!
Albany, NY - On Sunday, January 28th, the SUNY Orange Colts men's Basketball team traveled to the state capital, Albany, to take on the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton. The team took care of business on the road as the Colts were able to secure the win with a final score of 66-61. After a rough first half, the Colts found themselves down by ten points going into the halftime break. In the second, the team was able to find their spark and turned things around. The Colts put 38 points scored in the second half and the Colts were able to secure their seventh win of 2024 and continued a winning steak that has reached 9 games. The team will try to make the streak hit double digits against Jamestown for a 2:00 game home on Saturday Feb, 3rd.
Freshman, #5 Jaidyn Rutling (Goshen, NY) was the leading scorer of the game with 14 points also had 3 rebounds and 2 steals in 22 minutes of play.
Sophomore, #4 Daniel Lans (Spring Valley, NY) was the games second highest scorer with 12 points and also came away with 3 rebounds and 2 steals.
Freshman, #2 Mat Shea (Wallkill, NY) finished off with a season high 14 rebounds and added 8 points and 2 steals.
Sophomore, #24 George Patsalos (New Windsor, NY) finished the game with 9 points and also grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 2 assists and added a block and a steal on the defensive end.
