Suffern, N.Y. - The nationally 18th-ranked SUNY Orange men's basketball team took down Mid-Hudson conference opponent Rockland by a final score of 94-80 Tuesday night. The Colts improve to 8-0 on the season as the Hawks drop to 6-2.
Freshman Anthony Pacciarelli (Monroe, NY/ St. Joseph) had a standout game, leading the Colts with a career-high 36 points while adding six rebounds, one assist, and three steals. Sophomore Darren McFarlane (Bronx, N.Y./ Monsignor Scanlan) contributed 14 points along with nine rebounds, two assists, six steals and one block.
The opening half set the tone of a tightly contested battle. The Hawks struck first but the Colts answered quickly. It was a back and forth battle going into halftime with the Colts leading 46-42.
Coming out of the break, the Colts came out strong, quickly establishing a larger lead and refusing to let up for the remainder of the game.
The Colts are back in action on Tuesday, December 2 as they host Sullivan County Community College.Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
