SUNY Orange vs Generals of Sullivan County
Third loss in a row for the Colts
Last night the SUNY Orange Colts took on a powerhouse of a team in Sullivan County who currently have a record of 21-4 and are undefeated in conference play through their first 7 games. The SUNY Orange Colts did not perform like their usual selves as they shot their second lowest shooting percentage, they made 16/75 shots for a percentage of 21.3%. This game will be one to forget for the Colts as they had all sorts of troubles on both sides of the ball. They scored just 13 points in the first quarter and 8 in the second quarter for a total of 21 points in the first half while their opponent scored 22 points in the first and 26 in the second for a total of 48-22 in the first half of the game as the Colts will have to make a big change if they want to come close to winning the game.
Unfortunately the second half played out just like the first as the Colts were outscored 21-42 for a final total score of 42-90. This marks the Colts 12 loss of the year and have a record of 7-12 as their season is not quite done as they paly one more regular season game and then postseason. Despite the off night there are still some athletes who shined and had a great performance. Sophomore #3 Liliana Ramirez finished as the leading scorer of the game and also earned a performance of the night mark. Ramirez finished with 19 points shooting 9/18 from the field. Along with her great shooting performance she recorded 12 rebounds (9th Double-double of the season) and also came away with 1 assist and 2 steals. Freshman #10 Jaylen Soltani was the second highest scorer of th night in what was an extremely off night for her as she scored just 7 points and also added 2 rebounds, 2 assists and one steal.
