Women’s Basketball Falls to Hostos Community College
Middletown, NY - The SUNY Orange women's basketball dropped a road contest to Hostos, 80-49. The Colts are now 1-11 on this season, while Hostos improves to 6-7.
SUNY Orange jumped out to an early 13-10 lead in the first quarter, but they fell behind in the second.The Colts regrouped and kept the game close, heading into halftime tied at 25-25. Coming back from the break Hostos increased their pace of play and took control of the game, outscoring the Colts 55-24 in the second half.
Leading the Colts was sophomore Adriana Vazquez (Newburgh, NY/ John S. Burke) with 15 points, five rebounds, one assist, two blocks, and one steal. Freshman Jada Reed (Eldred, NY/ Eldred) chipped in 12 points with three rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
The Colts return to action on Saturday, January 18, when they travel to Jamestown Community College for a 12:00 PM tip-off.
