Colts Bounce Back with Sweep After Tough Loss to Queensborough

Brooklyn, NY – The SUNY Orange Colts split their matches on Saturday, falling in their opener to Queensborough Community College before bouncing back with a dominant 3-0 sweep over Kingsborough Community College.

Match One – Queensborough (3), Orange (1)

Queensborough took the opening set 25-22 in a tight battle.

In the second set, Queensborough found their rhythm and pulled away for a 25-19 win, taking a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Colts responded with energy in the third, controlling play to earn a 25-15 win and cut the deficit to 2-1.
The fourth set was another close contest, but Queensborough held firm in the final points, closing out the match 25-22 to secure the 3-1 victory.

Freshman Angelina Rivera had a standout performance, contributing 20 points, 15 kills, and 13 digs for the Colts.

Match Two-Kingsborough (0)- Orange (3)

The Colts came out strong and set the tone for the match, taking the first set with a dominant score of 25-9.
In the second set, the Colts continued their pressure and took the set 25-12.
Now with a 2-0 lead, the Colts maintained their rhythm and closed out the match with a 25-17 win, completing a 3-0 sweep.

Sophomore Lily Noteboom led the Colts with 15 points, five kills, and eight digs.

The Colts are back in action on October 23 for the Mid-Hudson Conference Tournament, hosted at Dutchess Community College.
