New Rochelle, NY - SUNY Orange women's volleyball team fell 3-1 to Monroe-Bronx on Thursday night, closing out their season with a 10-11 record. With the win, the Express advanced to the Region XV semifinals with a 19-4 record.
Both teams opened strong in the first set, trading points in a tight battle before the Express pulled away late to take it 25-21.
The second set remained just as competitive but the Express was able to pull away once again and took the set 26-24.
SUNY Orange responded in the third set with renewed energy and determination, dominating play to claim the set 25-18.
In the fourth and final set, the Express regained control of the match and sealed the victory 25-14.
For the Colts, sophomore Camryn Benjamin (Valley Central/Walden, NY) totaled 11.5 points with five kills and one dig, while freshman Angelina Rivera (Minisink Valley/Paramus, NJ) contributed 11 points with eight kills, and 20 digs.
